"the Indigo" is a unit by Miki Taoka (vocal and lyrics) and Yuichi Ichikawa (composition and arrangement).
Miki was making demonstration tapes. Yuichi was working as a composer / an arranger. They got to know each other through making a demonstration tape, and they became "the Indigo" in 1998. In 1999, they created a song called "BLUE", which was highly appreciated by everyone in the Japanese music industry. This song, "BLUE" was welcomed by many listeners as the their long awaited first CD single on May 24, 2000.
